Summer Is Here!

Summer Is Here!

Just in time for "Dancin' In The Street (The Carpenters version only).  I took this picture today and it really reminded me of the movie, Edward Scissorhands (one of my all-time favorites). We hope the forming storms in the West make it to Orlando and cool things off a bit! It's hot, but a beautiful day nonetheless.

The mastering process of the upcoming Hadley's Hope album is underway. This is actually a very interesting part of the process and I am intrigued as to just how much our ears hear/discern from the rough mixes. We're very thankful that the album is in the right hands.

We're having more rehearsals this week to focus on vocal harmonies. We've got a lot of great parts worked out already, and I'm excited to see what happens with the rest of the songs!  We will also be announcing new show dates very soon! So, if you missed us at Taste Restaurant, or if you just haven't been able to make it out to a show, you'll definitely have that opportunity soon!

We hope everybody is enjoying their summer. Personally, I was going to drive out to Cocoa Beach today, however it's just too hot to leave the house at all. Instead, I thought I'd bring the beach to me. The new Beach Boys album, "That's Why God Made The Radio" I highly recommend! It's very laid back and really catchy! It's amazing to see a band that has endured for so long, still able to "have it" and put out an album as fresh sounding as anything they ever released.

A New Chapter - Alien Horizons

July 1, 2012

This is Michael, lead-singer on keys in Hadley's Hope. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and the beginning of a new month and chapter. It is way too hot to leave the house today so I thought it would be a great opportunity to blog. I can't believe that 2012 is half over!

The first half of this year has been non-stop for the band. If you're already a Hadley's Hope fan, you know that we have been playing great shows in Orlando.  The feedback and response we have been getting has been awesome! If you are not yet a fan, we're sure you will be soon. Beside playing awesome shows, we've been hard at work recording an all new, full-length album!

Hadley's Hope has gone through many transformations over the past few years. The current band member lineup is truly where this band has been heading for a very long time. Like with many things in life that you truly focus on, follow that dream. As the above picture clearly shows, it was once someone's dream to put a lander on the surface of Mars. They focused on it and did it!

So, speaking of our new lineup, Tim Hoeksema is the newest addition as an extremely talented bassist. However, it feels like he has always been in the band. Ever meet someone and feel like you have known them all your life? That's how Hadley's Hope feels about him. Tim came into the band as we were finishing the recording of our newest endeavor. Even though he joined the band as the album was finishing up, his bass playing is prominent on at least two of the tracks.

Unfortunately though, you'll have to wait till the album comes out to find out which tracks he's on! We won't be revealing much too info on the new album right now, but we can now say that it is finished recording and the tracks have been sent off for mastering in Baltimore, Maryland at the 37.5 Studio.

Fun fact of the day: Christian Hernandez, Hadley's Hope's drummer is originally from Maryland.

Recently, we've been listening to the rough mixes for a while now and figuring out what the sequence will be. That is not an easy task. The mixes sound fantastic, but you'll be the judge of that soon! And seeing the band evolve has been like watching cells divide and grow right before your eyes.

We'd also like to thank everyone for all the dedication, encouragement, and support you have shown us over the years. A special 'thank you' to those of you who have stuck by us through all the ups and downs. You know who you are.

Keep an eye out for more updates through this blog as well as postings on all of our sites which are:

Hadley's Hope - The Bio

Good Reading Material

Hadley’s Hope was formed in 1999 with Michael Fargnoli writing and recording his own bedroom demos of electro-pop anthems. After garnering attention via MP3.com, the urge to form a band began taking hold. A revolving door of musicians came and went until 2005, when it was time to make a change. Studio K, the name they were operating under, was soon to be no more.

Summer 2005 saw the addition of Kyle Bodshaug on guitar and also saw bigger changes on the horizon. For the next year Kyle and Michael would form a songwriting bond that would propel them to their next endeavor: finding a permanent drummer. A good one. This happened early in 2006 with the addition of Christian Hernandez, a bombastic drummer from the Washington DC punk scene. They quickly adopted a name culled from their favorite film, James Cameron’s "ALIENS", and Hadley’s Hope was born.

For the next year they honed their live show and built up their stable of songs, a process made easy by Michael’s endless supply of composition books brimming with lyrics and chord changes. In 2007, the band began recording their first full length effort, "Bells and Strings". It was a huge step forward in their creative process and prepared them for what was to come; the recording of "Century Of Progress".

From late 2008 until spring of 2009 the band recorded and mixed "Century Of Progress" at Alpaca Ranch Studio in Orlando, Florida. Showing what they could sound like utilizing a full studio, the band released the album that summer and led it off with the still immensely popular digital single, "Zoom". Playing relentlessly to promote the release, Hadley’s Hope found themselves in the position of next recording an EP to showcase what they saw as the ever evolving future of their sound.

During the recording of this EP, simply entitled, "Hadley’s Hope", the band formed a creative and musical relationship with Ryan Graham. Ryan's a musical wizard out of Baltimore, Maryland who records, mixes, and masters Hadley’s Hope’s music. The band sees Graham as a full time, one-hundred percent invested band member.

After finishing the EP recording, Hadley’s Hope has continued to gig around the Central Florida area, write new songs, and expand the scope and energy of their live show including adding guitarist, Micah J. Tappe and bassist, Tim Hoeksema to the lineup.

Hadley's Hope has been in the studio for the majority of 2011 and 2012 recording a wealth of material. Hadley's Hope's new album is set for release in September 2012.
